No, we do not craft or sell doors, we are your friendly Austin door installation specialists. However, we are here to assist throughout the entire ordering process as needed.
We do replacement pre-hung exterior and interior doors (door with frame), exterior and interior slab door installation (door itself), sliding glass door installation, and re-hanging of existing doors.
The very first step is to send an email or text message to us saying what you are looking to get done, along with photos of the door/doors you are wanting to replace.
For exterior door photos (outside photo, inside photo, and picture of threshold)
For interior (outside photo and inside photo)
When deciding on pre-hung (door with frame) or slab doors (only door) there are a few things you may want to consider.
If the frames are not damaged and you don’t want to replace the trim, or the heights are odd sizes it would be better to get slab doors.
If the frames are damaged or you are wanting to add new trim, pre-hung is a good way to go.
This is a general guideline to follow. Have no fear though, we are here to help you decide what the best option is and explain things in more detail.
We do not haul off old doors. Although you could contact Habitat for Humanity, they will come and haul off the old door.
In Austin, big trash pickup will haul off old doors.
When it comes to the old frame , I can cut it down into smaller pieces that can be easily thrown away.
The difference is vast. In all my years of removing old doors to install new ones, I hardly ever see that the old door was installed correctly. Slapping a door into a hole and covering it with trim is easy. Installing a door correctly so that it will last 20+ years takes knowledge, proper tools, and dedication to detail with no shortcuts. Especially with exterior doors, this is the first line of defense against the elements, bugs, and people. The doors I install are installed with the intent to last for the lifetime of the door.
